Cleaning up the Capital – ByWard Market Edition
We are organizing a massive Market Clean-up Day on Sunday, May 6th, 2018, as part of the Glad Clean-up the Capital event. Working with the City of Ottawa, the Lowertown Community Association, the Shepherds of Good Hope and the Salvation Army we are going to give the Market a massive spring scrub.
Grab your brooms, buckets, gloves and smiles and meet us all at 9:00am at the Lowertown Brewery, 73 York St., for a big group photo and then make your way around the Market to help every business and sidewalk put its best face forward as we launch into the summer.
Groups can also form to go and clean-up Bingham and Cathcart Parks as a thank you to the citizens of Lowertown who consistently support our businesses and restaurants.
With the help of the shelters we are also hoping to give them a hand with a clean-up of their respective areas.
The BIA has been coordinating with the City for street sweeping and garbage pick-up. Goodbye Graffiti and the Needle Hunters will also be on hand to support.
Local politicians and media have been invited, and will participate, so let’s show the whole city how much we care about this amazing neighbourhood and let’s come together with our friends, families and employees to make the Market a welcoming place for everyone.
