On a lovely autumn afternoon, join us in the ByWard Market precinct for Ottawa’s first ARTWALK, a benefit event for the homeless, which will combine a good conversation with a tour of the ByWard Market’s vibrant art scene.
THE CONVERSATION - Start after lunch at the open-air Amphitheatre of the National Gallery of Canada. Internationally renowned Canadian artist/photographer Geneviève Cadieux will talk with popular TV host, Lucy van Oldenbarneveld about growing up in Ottawa, her life as an artist and how it feels to see the largest work she has ever created now hanging on the outer walls of the National Gallery of Canada.
THE WALK – Take a tour of the private galleries in the ByWard Market, offering art for all tastes, and enjoy encounters with some of their artists. Map and brochure will be provided.
THE FINALE – The afternoon wraps up at the Ottawa Art Gallery with exclusive access to its current exhibitions.
PROCEEDS from this event will be donated primarily to the Minwaashin Healing Lodge, a facility that helps Indigenous women and their families who are victims of violence. Shelters in the By Ward Market will also receive a donation.
