Rovology blogger names four ByWard restaurants “must-trys” for a unique foodie experience

What comes to mind when you think of unique foodie experiences in Canada? Lobster and caviar in the Maritimes? World-class restaurants in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver? Bison and beef in Calgary? How about international cuisine in Ottawa? Yes. You read that correctly. Ottawa.

Ottawa doesn’t get much attention from prospective visitors or the travel media. Perhaps because even some of its residents describe it as a “boring city full of government buildings.” I found it to be a fun, dynamic city with a fascinating history and attractions.

It’s also gaining a reputation as a foodie destination. Ottawa has a variety of international restaurants because of its large, diverse immigrant population, and six of these are on the 2024 list of Canada’s Best Restaurants.
