Welcome to The ByWard Market

The ByWard Market is Ottawa’s number one tourist attraction, and is the premier destination for shopping, dining, arts, entertainment and professional services for residents and visitors. This area averages 50,000 visitors per weekend in the summer months. It is home to both a local farmers’ market and artisans with many stands, as well as over 600 businesses.

What time are we open?

Great question! Outdoor vendors typically set up for 9 a.m. and will close around 5 p.m., depending on the weather. There are also over 600 unique businesses in the Market, all responsible for their own hours of operation. Contact them directly for hours of operation to best plan your visit.
