Community Spotlight:

As part of our Community Spotlight, we chatted with our new sponsors at Lady Dive Tours and asked them a couple of questions so you could get to know them better!

As a company, what does teaming up with local tourism-based organizations mean to you?
Since we took over the business in 2021, teaming up with local tourism organizations has been one of the key elements to our success. The spirit of collaboration has surged in the industries most affected by covid during these past couple of years.

Why did you decide to partner with Ottawa Markets?
Ottawa markets is one of those rare partners that is just as important for tourists as they are to locals. Their uniqueness brings a vibrance to our capital city, as well as great support to local merchants!

What is your favourite tour that Lady Dive offers?
I don't have a favorite tour; it depends on the day! Sometimes, I enjoy taking our open top double decker and getting off at local hotspots. Since it is hop on/hop off, I enjoy taking it as a transport method around the city... It truly promotes Ottawa and shows the best views in our region! On the other hand, I sometimes prefer sitting and relaxing on our amphibus tour which goes on land and water. It is the only one in Quebec or Ontario, so it's quite an unusual tour to experience! Going into the water with a bus never gets old.

Since forming in 1999, what are the biggest changes that Lady Dive Tours has noticed in the industry?
Lady Dive formed in 1999; but we took ownership in 2021. I can't speak for the past owners, but our biggest challenge was the Covid-19 pandemic. Buying a tourism business during the pandemic wasn't an easy decision. We are hoping that the years ahead of us provide us with more visitors and healthier times for everyone.

Any exciting new initiatives planned for this summer?
This season, we became the official transportation for the Ottawa BlackJacks, Ottawa's basketball team in the CEBL. We love this exciting partnership! We also created the Tulip Trolley, which was the official shuttle to the spectacular Tulip Festival. We hope to bring both of these back next summer. Finally, we are creating a new winter service called "Cobblestone Tours"; these will be tours of the city during the winter time in vintage buses! We have an old 70's double decker as well as an 80's trolley bus. Super exciting projects!

What’s something cool you wish everyone knew about Lady Dive Tours?
We are one of 2 amphibuses in Canada! The only other amphibious vehicle is in Halifax, so we are the most accessible one for most Canadians!

Where can our readers get more information on the tours you offer?
They can head to our website at ladydive.com or our kiosk at 44 Sparks St. We also sell many discounted tickets on several attractions throughout the city, such as Interzip, airplane rides and private yachts!
